W17D82 (Tuesday) Happy Birthday to Me!
Today, keeping in mind that I will be writing and shaping my essay soon, I started to make contacts with teachers I want to observe; a first grade, Pre-school and K2. All are considered early childhood, but just the Kindergarten classes are inclusion. This will to shape the narrative of my essay. Successful classes today, allowed me to assess their work. It has always been my was I scaffold at it so it's certainly looked more like we were making progress in the past. It's always been, that when I develop an assignment, when it doesn't work, I scrap the whole thing and start again from scratch and so I never have developed assessments that are consistent with what I am teaching. Just since reflecting on my own practice, I'm learning that my teaching methods, if properly scaffolded, will elicit the student outcome that yields reliable data. Just as I begin to learn how to stop in the midst of the work, and clarify that which is confusing, my assignments are beginning to to go forward without having to edit them ever again. It's a real revelation for me and as I think about preparing to write, I'm learning more deeper ideas and refinements about my work.
