W7D36 (Friday) Going back to work today wasn't as scary as imagined. I rode my bike and that felt great. My knee wasn't perfect, but not as bad as Wednesday. And a realization hit me; my emotions were completely aligned with my physical health. This is what I learned about myself-I need to take care of my physical health because when my body is not at its best, there is no way to feel confident, and then the job suffers.

The day went so much better than Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday and it is all because I cared for myself at least as much (doesn't have to be more) as my job (or students) to be able to give my work my best effort. I was happy, funny, and engaged with my students on Friday, and therefore my students were happy, funny, and engaged. It is critical to show what is expected and when I am at my healthiest, anything is possible.
So, it will be my work in the next 4-7 weeks to stay at full power, and learn with the students, as we sail along into the next trimester.
