Friday is the day that I review the week.
Last night was open house and I had a record number of parents visit. It is exciting because it means our school's foundation is firm.
We received some troubling news from the principal yesterday. It seems the state is changing the way they "group" schools. Now schools will either be grouped by high school or everything else. Which puts us nearly at the bottom (#25 out of 100) and that is a scary place to be. But our principal has already placed us in a cohort to study and make changes by being part of the University of Virginia. She was optimistic and really told us to think of this as a challenge we can overcome.
On a personal note, this week has included less regret than in the past and more insight than Monday. My focus student, J, is in class on Monday and I used to make initial work on my my focus on him. By next Monday, I will have a scheduled plan for how this might look for my focal student (fs).
