Thursday feels much easier because there are two days to go before the weekend, and the hardest part of my week is through. This Thursday, my hope is to keep editing the work as it stays authentic and honest. This approach has worked well all week and now must be used to assess in terms of long term effects. As a master's student, it is critical to continuously view life as a blank canvas that keeps changing. Old ideas emerge from deep under the surface of the practice. Activities, simply because they are old favorites, need not get yanked out of my work; repeating what works is what "playing" is about in dance. We need to find a class rhythm that works for each student, as well as for me, as teacher. My studio is my canvas and work that has been covered up is re-emerging to excellent results. Trust the gut!
