Week 1 Day 5 (Wednesday)
I am finally in full swing of my schedule. It was a big day, with the middle school coming to the elective fair, and my first K1 and K2 classes. I have work to do on my master's assignments before the end of the week and I also want to get my lesson plans done on Thursday during pd so I won't have work on the weekend. This is not too hard to accomplish if I stay on task.
My goal of vlogging again, got a reboot today. I will try to use this task as a way to reflect on my work during the day and also, to relate it to my essay text.
Yesterday it was such fun to work with a new group of 4 year olds and finding that they were happy to be working with me. Sometimes I am discouraged when I am unable to connect with a student. This becomes something I blame myself for and not looking at it in ways of dissecting the connection and how to improve the rapport with certain students. Some students are very connected to me and others aren't and my guess is that it has less to do with my inadequacies, of which there are many, and more to do with the personality of each child. We can't connect with every child, even as hard as we try to do so. As the week progresses, I will continue to find the connections which are possible and strengthen those which are weaker.
