Every now and then I look back on some of the past classes and performances I have had over the past 13 years at the Curley. Not out of nostalgia, simply from a perspective of where I have been, so I can figure out where to go next.
Three weeks in New York renewed my excitement about the work I do, but it also made me feel proud of what I have accomplished. Never satisfied with what is possible, looking back allows me time to stay more focused in the moment.
While I am staying in the moment, I am ever planning for the future. I don't want to go backwards, so looking at what I have done or accomplished helps
me set new and more ambitious goals. I won't ever be satisfied, but I am able experience a sense of confidence in my abilities and that with this summer's fellowships, I am moving in the right direction. My goals might keep shifting, but never my focus.
