The first day of the LCE forum was amazing. We had a speaker (Dr. Monique W. Morris) who presented evidence (statistical) about the effects of public education on black girls. Pushout is a story whose themes are relevant for all but in particular speaks to educators, who know these marginalized girls, are our future. It would make a great book to read for common planning time, which usually has a climate and culture focus alternating with a pedagogical focus.
Today we go to the Met and it another rainy day. Hopefully I won't get soaked either going or coming home. Day two promises to be even more connected and full of potential for growth.
