Today is Bastille Day in France, and it marks the people revolting against the monarchy in France. It was a day the people arose against a dictatorship.
I have been writing a blog entry each day for the first 13 days of July, and today I made the realization, that it has been an image or imagery that has been leading me. Perhaps now words randomly can also affect me because the realization that it was Bastille Day, that we, as humans, are moving along randomly in our own paths, until a reason for uniting causes us to work together to solve problems, and better the world.
My role as a dance educator is often that way. Students feel little control over their lives academically, but when they come to my class, they are given the latitude to create their own definition of their lives.
As I move into my pre-workshop mindset, I need to remember each day, though presenting itself randomly, has the potential to have meaning. It is up to me to make meaning of the randomness of life.
