Though yesterday was the beginning of the month, it is now the first week day in July and I am planning for my journey which begins this month.
Though the fellowship begins officially on July 28th, I will be in New York on the previous week to study at Lincoln Center for the second year on a Manton fellowship. This week will give me time and energy to acclimate to a New York rhythm and state of mind. I plan to use the time to wander and discover and spend time walking, a luxury not afforded me last summer due to my broken leg. I hope to go to some performances and to take in MoMA early in the week.
What I will be using the days I have before my actual journey, is prepping my body as well as my mind. Yesterday, I began some long overdue strength training of my legs. Today I hope to do some arm work. I will use every day to prepare in some way so that I am fit enough to take full of the advantages of going on my Fund for Teachers fellowship at the National Dance Institute.
My life is an ever advancing swirl of beginning again. Today on the second day of the month (and my wedding anniversary) I am reminded how often life for me seems like a reboot of work, ideals, creativity, and beliefs. Renewal is not a bad thing for me, it seems like a constantly renewal of faith in spirit.
